Free drop-in information fairs for Surrey’s carers

Carers Rights Day logo with an orange circle and loudspeaker and the words Carers Rights Day 2024Carers Rights Day takes place on Thursday 21st November.

It’s a national event when unpaid carers are encouraged to learn about their rights and we all work towards ensuring carers get all the support they need.

Across the week around Carers Rights Day (from Monday 18th till Saturday 23rd), Action for Carers Surrey are running Carer Information Fairs, focusing on carers’ rights, across Surrey.

Wide range of support

A variety of Surrey charities and organisations will be joining Action for Carers staff to answer questions – practical, financial, legal – about your caring role, and offer general support, advice and information.

Staff from the various Action for Carers services will be attending most Hubs: Adult Carer Support team, Surrey Young Carers, Mental Health Carers team, Hospital Carer Advisers, and the Moving & Handling team.

Attending organisations at different (not all) Fairs include: The Stroke Association, Parkinson’s UK, The National Autistic Society Surrey, Age UK Surrey, The Hunter Centre, Surrey Family Information Service, Surrey County Council, Surrey Community Action Warmth Matters Team, Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey, Disability Equipment Service, Mole Valley Life, Surrey Coalition of Disabled People, Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA), Surrey Welfare Rights Unit. Please see the individual event listing for each event for details of who’s attending.

In addition, you can pick up free resources, plus some little giveaways – and enjoy a free coffee/tea and cake! Just pop along!
